Former Lab Members

Charles Rexer
Email: chrexerj@artsci.wustl.edu

Charles is a graduate student and hails from New York. He is investigating the role of the Lia1 protein in the DNA rearrangement process.

Alissa Anderson
Email: amanders@artsci.wustl.edu

Alissa joined the lab as a research technician in the summer 2003 after graduating from Washington University. Her project is to find the cis-acting sequences within the M element that specifies its transcription.

Christina Kowalczyk
Email: ckowal@biology2.wustl.edu

Chrissy's research has shown that the M element is targeted for excision by a homology-based recognition mechanism. She will be starting graduate school at Northwestern in Fall 2003.

Colin Malone
Email: cdmalone@artsci.wustl.edu

Colin joined the lab as a Sophomore in the Fall 2001. His projects include the examination of a GFP-tagged micronuclear linker histone and examination of the role of the CNJC gene in the transcription of germline sequences.

Maria Arce-Larreta
Email: mtarcela@artsci.wustl.edu

Maria is from Salt Lake City. She is determining the minimal extent of homology required to epigenetically block DNA rearrangement.

Rajat Jain
Email: rkjain@artsci.wustl.edu

Raj will be a sophomore at Washington University (Fall 2003) and he has been working to characterize the LIA2 gene.

Scott Kalishman
Email: skalishman@hotmail.com

Scott is a high school student from Ladue, MO, and his project has been to examine the in vivo localization of LIA and PDD genes using GFP and color-shifted variants.
