Alissa joined the lab as a research technician in the summer 2003 after graduating from Washington University. Her project is to find the cis-acting sequences within the M element that specifies its transcription.
Chrissy's research has shown that the M element is targeted for excision by a homology-based recognition mechanism. She will be starting graduate school at Northwestern in Fall 2003.
Colin joined the lab as a Sophomore in the Fall 2001. His projects include the examination of a GFP-tagged micronuclear linker histone and examination of the role of the CNJC gene in the transcription of germline sequences.
Scott is a high school student from Ladue, MO, and his project has been to examine the in vivo localization of LIA and PDD genes using GFP and color-shifted variants.
